As a Business Finance Analyst based in Abu Dhabi, you will support the business across financial and commercial topics linked to bp’s operations. The position calls for strong technical capability in integrated business planning, performance reporting, commercial optimisation, policy and compliance guidance, and cross-functional coordination to help deliver strong business outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Support or lead budget and forecast preparation for the oil and LNG businesses, while tracking performance and sharing timely analysis and recommendations.
- Provide advanced financial and economic analysis to support business decisions.
- Own or assist with bp processes such as investment governance, reserves reporting, SMOG, impairment reviews, and the upkeep or creation of economic models.
- Take part in joint venture finance and audit committee meetings and advise on decisions in line with agreements to safeguard and grow bp’s value.
- Drive risk management activities and ensure adherence to relevant bp policies.
Requirements
- A degree in Finance, Economics, Accountancy, Business Management, or a closely related equivalent qualification.
- Substantial background in finance, business planning, and economic evaluation within the oil and gas sector.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, along with a solid grasp of accounting basics and strong commercial judgement.
- Ability to work with limited supervision, showing initiative, accuracy, and diligence.
- Proven collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders across functions.
- Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills and fluent English.
- Preferred: experience with investment governance, joint ventures, and agreement management.
- Preferred: familiarity with LNG markets and pricing.

Additional information
This role may require up to 10% travel. It is not eligible for relocation assistance. The working arrangement is hybrid, combining office and remote work.
