Role Overview
As a Business Development Manager specializing in Off Highway Aftermarket, your primary responsibility is to accelerate sales growth by nurturing distributor partnerships, expanding market reach, and spearheading strategies for market growth and new product introductions throughout South East Asia. This role involves analyzing industry trends, detecting potential opportunities and threats, and delivering comprehensive reports to guide business strategies. Your portfolio will include sectors such as earth-moving, industrial, marine, and mining off-highway applications.
Key Duties
- Oversee distributor partnerships to achieve planned sales targets in designated South East Asian markets.
- Identify and onboard new distributor accounts within specified markets, including expansion efforts beyond South East Asia.
- Monitor and drive distributor performance to meet or exceed sales goals.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities in core off-highway sectors, including earth-moving, industrial, marine, and mining.
- Identify market opportunities and potential risks based on thorough market analysis.
- Develop and activate strategic plans for market development, increased market penetration, and product launches within South East Asia.
- Provide regular performance reports (monthly, quarterly, yearly) to the sales leadership, highlighting growth factors and presenting business cases and mitigation strategies.
- Engage with customers directly to strengthen and enhance relationships with business partners across the region.
- Conduct detailed market research on products and competitors, with emphasis on off-highway applications.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and regional exhibitions to support sales objectives.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrable success in sales management and business development within the Automotive Aftermarket domain.
- Experience in the off-highway parts market, particularly for earth-moving, industrial, marine, and mining segments, is highly valued.
- Background in the mining sector is an advantage.
- Deep understanding of automotive and/or off-highway industries, including product lines, distribution channels, and marketing techniques.
- Regional experience managing South East Asia markets preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong presentation capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with SAP is beneficial.
- Fluent in English.
- Customer-centric with a solution-focused approach.
- Team-oriented with collaborative working skills.
- Strong negotiation skills aimed at creating win-win agreements.
- Track record of driving business growth through expanding customer bases and market coverage.
- Ability to work cohesively with clients, colleagues, and leadership towards both immediate and future goals.
- Proactive and open-minded to learning and diverse perspectives.
- Preferably owns a vehicle for customer visits and travel.
- Experience in international trade and automotive industries is a plus.
- Willing to travel domestically and throughout South East Asia.
- Position is home-based regional role with possible residence in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, or Indonesia.
