Job description
About the Role
We are launching a unique product called Safety360 that evaluates workplace health and safety culture by capturing authentic employee perceptions rather than standard compliance documentation. Our approach involves a brief team survey and delivering insights via a visual dashboard, interpreted by experts. Currently in pilot with eight organizations, we seek a Business Development Manager to expand our presence in the New Zealand market.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and conduct discussions with medium and large organizations (20–500 employees) in industries such as construction, infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, transport, local government, and beyond.
- Engage in discovery conversations to uncover underlying health and safety culture challenges that leaders may suspect but cannot quantitatively prove.
- Present Safety360's Pulse Check and Team Culture Survey products, supported by facilitation experts.
- Manage sales pipelines effectively to close agreements.
- Relay market feedback to our team to guide product development.
Candidate Requirements
- Substantive experience in health and safety, either through employment, consulting, or selling to this sector, to command credibility with HSE Managers and Board members.
- Demonstrable success in generating new business, preferably in business-to-business and consultative sales.
- Existing industry contacts or the ability to rapidly establish such relationships.
- Comfort with pioneering efforts where no established playbook exists, contributing to shaping the sales approach.
- Highly self-motivated, as this is a commission-only position; tested market potential exists.
What We Offer
- Unlimited commission opportunities on a product generating recurring revenue rather than one-off sales.
- Opportunity to join at an early stage of a growing business scaling to Australia, the US, and the UK.
- Alignment with newly passed health and safety legislation sharpening director responsibilities, creating increased market demand for evidence-backed solutions.
- A product that is straightforward to sell, saving clients weeks of assessment time.
- Full sales support including proposals, dashboards, facilitators, and materials.
- Flexible work schedule and location.
Additional Information
The role is commission-based with flexible working hours and requires onsite presence in Auckland, New Zealand. This is an opportunity to engage deeply with a growing market and influence product-market fit and sales strategy directly.
