Based in Nairobi, Kenya, the Business Development and Account Manager will spearhead growth initiatives for Thales in Eastern Africa, primarily focusing on Aerospace, Defence, and Security sectors. This role entails managing customer relations, forming strategic partnerships, and aligning customer requisites with Thales' diverse business offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive growth of Thales’ business operations across Eastern African nations.
- Maintain an in-depth and current understanding of Thales’ product ranges to effectively engage prospects and government clients.
- Comprehend customers’ missions, operational contexts, and priorities, while communicating Thales solutions aligned to their objectives and relaying market insights to the appropriate business units.
- Promote Thales’ comprehensive product portfolio to government entities and end-users within the region.
- Champion Thales’ Aerospace, Defence, and Security products, articulating the company's vision and value propositions convincingly.
- Lead business development efforts identifying new growth opportunities among existing and potential customers.
- Establish and nurture long-term partnerships with key stakeholders and strategic allies.
- Set, execute, and oversee account goals and performance benchmarks.
- Create, maintain, and implement detailed Capture Plans.
- Ensure exemplary customer satisfaction and foster enduring engagements.
- Serve as a pivotal liaison connecting customers with various internal Thales business lines.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in sales, marketing, or business administration.
- Between 5 to 10 years of relevant international experience in roles within the aerospace, defence, security, or similar industries.
- Familiarity with public procurement processes involving both military and civilian agencies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Aerospace, Defence, and Security markets.
- Strong customer orientation with the ability to grasp operational needs and translate these into viable business prospects.
- Highly motivated, results-driven, and disciplined professional demeanor.
- Advanced analytical capabilities, effective communication skills, and proficiency in managing multiple stakeholders.
- Proven talent in building partnerships and steering cross-functional collaborative initiatives.
- Fluency in English at a C2 level, both written and oral.
