Role Overview
This position is part of the Explosive Ordnance Services team supporting the Australian Defence Force by managing storage, distribution, maintenance, and disposal operations. Working primarily from Townsville on Bindal and Wulgurukaba land, this role provides a comprehensive insight into our business operations and opportunities for professional growth, with many team members advancing into leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Labeling and organizing stock and preparing packages for dispatch.
- Assisting in the transportation of inventory both on-site and by road.
- Tracking store shelf life and supporting inventory audits and inspections.
- Using information systems to log and access inventory data.
- Maintaining vigilance on health and safety to meet company standards and protect colleagues.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a valid driver’s licence.
- Strong skills in customer service.
- Highly attentive to detail, with good numerical ability and effective oral and written communication.
- Prior warehousing or Defence sector experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
Additional Information and Requirements
Applicants must be Australian citizens eligible for the required Defence security clearance. The role necessitates pre-employment police checks and possibly medical assessments. Information about security clearances is available through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency. In certain cases, Australian recognition of foreign security clearances may apply, subject to the Defence Trade Controls Act and nationality considerations.
