Role Summary

The role of Business Consultant - Property & Rating focuses on delivering expert consulting services according to Datascape Implementation Methodology to clients across New Zealand. The primary task is to implement the Property & Rating modules within the Datascape ERP system, specifically tailored for clients in the Local Government sector. Engagements vary from extensive multi-month projects to brief single-day assignments. Some travel for onsite client work may be necessary, while the company supports flexible work arrangements beyond these commitments.

Key Responsibilities

Customize and implement Datacom’s ERP based on client business requirements, adhering to established best practices.
Lead diverse workshops confidently, managing multiple stakeholder interests and promoting best practice alignment within product capabilities, guiding clients to adjust business processes when required.
Analyze requirements thoroughly to ensure the design aligns with relevant policies, identify mismatches within the Datascape product and communicate scope changes to the project manager.
Take ownership of business design, document and validate solution details, minimize technical debt, and enforce adherence to standard solution patterns.
Configure the Datascape suite in alignment with best practices and documented design.
Collaborate on developing testing strategies including functional, integration, and system integration testing; perform testing to identify and resolve issues, assist in end-to-end testing cycles, user acceptance testing, and support smooth go-live transitions.
Deliver training on the Datascape product and administration, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and supporting 'Train the Trainer' programs.
Provide constructive feedback to the development team based on customer usage and improvement suggestions.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Experience working with councils is beneficial, especially within rates, building, or planning functions.
Proven ability to translate business needs into functional requirements and implement effective solutions.
Capability to conduct end-user and application training sessions.
Background in system administration or hands-on configuration tasks.
Strong dedication to customer satisfaction, quality improvements, and delivering results.
Excellent corporate presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
Effective time management, prioritization, negotiation, and organizational competencies.
Collaborative mindset with a willingness to share expertise for team benefit.
Previous experience with ERP vendors is advantageous.
