About Truvalu Bangladesh
Truvalu Bangladesh operates as a branch of Truvalu, a Netherlands-based impact investment firm dedicated to the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups across emerging markets. Leveraging a unique co-entrepreneurship approach, Truvalu focuses on providing capital, business development support, and access to networks, technology, and strategic coaching. The Bangladesh team primarily delivers tailored business advisory services and support to help local enterprises achieve growth, sustainability, and positive social impact.
Role Overview
The Business Analyst will work closely with the business consulting team to facilitate the strengthening of SMEs and impact-oriented startups in Bangladesh. The core mandate includes supporting both women-led and green enterprises to improve their business capacity and achieve investment-readiness. The analyst will play an active part in delivering training and coaching sessions for entrepreneurs, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring seamless execution of business development service (BDS) initiatives.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and implementing strategic plans and BDS programs tailored to SMEs, startups, and impact-focused businesses.
- Support coordination among internal teams and external partners to align technical assistance with enterprise needs and project objectives.
- Contribute to developing and delivering training sessions, workshops, and coaching programs for entrepreneurs and their teams.
- Engage with SME and startup clients to diagnose business issues, identify capacity development opportunities, and recommend solutions.
- Provide practical technical assistance and facilitate knowledge-sharing on innovative business practices and emerging technologies.
- Conduct market and industry research to provide clients with actionable strategic insights based on current trends and regulatory changes.
- Support SMEs in drafting robust business plans, including financial projections and growth strategies, and monitor their implementation.
- Advise on financial planning, budgeting, access to funding, and connect clients with investors and financial institutions when needed.
- Build and maintain networks with market actors, industry associations, and key stakeholders to foster collaboration opportunities for clients.
- Ensure detailed documentation of client engagements and prepare routine reports on the outcomes of technical assistance interventions.
- Represent the organization to originate business opportunities and support senior management in expanding brand presence in Bangladesh’s BDS ecosystem.
Qualification & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, Marketing, Economics, Sustainable Development, or related fields.
- At least 2–3 years of hands-on experience in business consulting, enterprise advisory, or BDS support for SMEs and startups.
- Experience in planning and executing BDS projects, including both in-person and online components.
- Strong understanding of the SME/startup landscape, climate and gender financing, and social or environmental impact assessment.
- Proficient in delivering management training and advisory solutions to enterprise clients.
- Extensive network of relevant market stakeholders and proven ability to develop effective partnerships.
- Strong communication and facilitation capabilities, with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Highly proficient in MS Office and Google Workspace; exceptional presentation and influencing abilities.

- Based in Dhaka, with frequent travel required within Bangladesh.
