Business Analyst - Oil and Gas

Position Overview

Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst specializing in the Oil and Gas sector. The role requires capturing and translating business challenges and requirements into functional solutions while driving innovation and growth within the Engineering, AI & Data team.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and analyze business issues, assess risks and opportunities, and model processes, data flows, and technology to improve value delivery.
• Develop and maintain precise, comprehensive requirements documentation aligned to project lifecycle and ensure traceability from business needs through to final solution deployment.
• Collaborate closely with software vendors, developers, and designers to understand system limitations and ensure business needs and use cases are accurately addressed.
• Configure and document software and processes adhering to defined standards and tools; establish acceptance criteria and coordinate testing to validate solutions.
• Build and present strong business cases to secure solution approval, funding, and prioritization; manage business analysis activities within cost, time, and quality constraints.
• Lead stakeholder engagement and large design workshops; manage teams to deliver business analysis on projects effectively.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 3 to 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst with a strong background in the Oil and Gas domain.
• Practical knowledge and experience with Agile project delivery and frameworks; ability to educate stakeholders and product owners in Agile methodologies.
• Comprehension of systems engineering principles, process and data analysis, and product & solution development.
• Preferred certifications include Agile trainings, CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional), or PMI-PBA.
• Experience or training in Lean practices is advantageous.
• Educational background: B.Tech or BE in Computer Science/Information Technology, or B.Tech/B.Sc (IT) with a full-time MBA.
