About the Team
The Regional Operations group brings together Customer Service, Returns & Refunds, Listings, Warehouse, Logistics, Seller Operations, and Fraud. Its role is to support the long-term health of the platform by keeping the buyer and seller journey smooth from start to finish. The team tracks core performance indicators, spots where results are falling short, and works closely with local teams to improve outcomes. It also creates and rolls out strategic operations initiatives across Shopee markets, covering process, people, technology, and policy improvements to strengthen efficiency and user experience.
Role Overview
This internship focuses on supporting the Returns & Refunds function within regional operations. The role is centered on policy design, process improvement, automation, data analysis, and coordination with cross-functional stakeholders to improve the returns experience across markets.
What You Will Do
- Support the development and refinement of end-to-end returns and refunds policies, workflows, and automation so the process remains efficient and user-friendly across regions.
- Partner with local teams and senior leaders to shape the RR strategy while balancing customer experience, operating cost, and risk exposure.
- Work alongside Product and Tech teams to use data and technology for buyer risk assessment and the allocation of returns and refunds privileges.
- Spot patterns of harmful or abusive buyer behavior, help reduce financial loss, and contribute to controls that preserve a good customer experience.
- Track results after new RR initiatives go live, review performance trends, and suggest process or system enhancements.
Requirements
- You should currently be enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a similar field.
- Basic SQL knowledge or prior exposure to SQL will be considered an advantage.
- You need strong analytical reasoning and the ability to apply structured thinking to business problems.
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn while contributing to impactful work are important.
- You should be able to help coordinate tasks across multiple stakeholders, monitor project timelines, and support progress toward team goals.
- Comfort in a fast-moving, collaborative work environment is expected.
- Preference is given to interns who can commit full time.
