Business Analyst - Fund Accounting and Transfer Agency

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst adept in data analysis and well-versed in Fund Accounting and Transfer Agency domains. This role supports data-centric transformation projects by ensuring the consistency and quality of data across Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, and related downstream platforms. The position is based in Bangalore or Hyderabad and operates in a hybrid mode.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth data analysis across Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, and Custody systems.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation including source-to-target data mappings, business rules for data transformation, and detailed data dictionaries.
• Analyze NAV components, transaction details, and pricing feeds with precision.
• Manage large data volumes to uncover inconsistencies, gaps, and anomalies.
• Perform rigorous data reconciliations among Transfer Agency, Fund Accounting, Accounting, and Custody systems.
• Identify and resolve issues related to NAV breaks, cash and position mismatches, and discrepancies in pricing.
• Conduct root cause analyses to recommend effective corrective measures following established reconciliation practices.
• Interpret and analyze Fund Accounting data such as NAV calculations, expense accruals, income distribution, corporate actions, and valuation adjustments to ensure accurate data impacting NAV performance and reporting.
• Translate business needs into technical data requirements, mapping specifications, AS-IS and TO-BE data flows, and integration points.
• Assist with data migration projects by performing data validation, cleansing, and lineage analysis to guarantee data accuracy during platform transitions.
• Collaborate closely with Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency teams, as well as Technology and Data Engineering departments.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 8 to 16 years experience specializing in Fund Accounting, Unit Pricing, Transfer Agency data flows, Asset Servicing, and Custody.
• Strong understanding of NAV lifecycle, data dependencies, investor transactions, and fund flows.
• Proficient in SQL for querying and validating data.
• Experience in data reconciliation, data mapping, transformation rules, and handling complex large datasets.
• Familiarity with data models and fact-dimension financial data structures.

Location and Mode of Work

Position based in Bangalore or Hyderabad with a hybrid work model requiring onsite presence.
