Job description

Role Overview

MatchBox Consulting Group is looking to hire a Business Analyst specializing in Data for a seven-month contract with a client based in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery efforts for new foundational data projects or those driven by business needs, employing effective business analysis approaches to capture requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between various stakeholders and the technical teams, including architects and developers.
  • Convert business needs into comprehensive and actionable specifications and detailed requirement documents.
  • Develop clear visualizations to simplify and communicate complex ideas and data models to diverse audience groups.
  • Document business processes during investigative sessions with stakeholders to produce certified enterprise functional documentation.
  • Manage and facilitate user acceptance testing sessions with business users.
  • Identify, document, and propose current and future business process changes to assist with change management efforts.
  • Coordinate and maintain stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience as a Business Analyst focused on Data and Analytics.
  • Hands-on familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
  • Understanding of the Data and Analytics product lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with critical thinking abilities.
  • Good knowledge of data modeling, including Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs).
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience using Power Automate.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills capable of interacting with all organizational levels to explain, document, and clarify business needs.
  • Proven organizational and prioritization skills managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to interpret business processes within Data and Analytics technical environments and create actionable documentation for development teams.
  • Experience working with JIRA software for issue and project tracking.
