Located at One New York Plaza in New York City, Morgan Stanley is a global leader delivering wealth management, investment banking, securities, and investment management services. The Wealth Management Platforms division oversees digital platforms and user experiences across multiple channels including Advisor, Workplace, and Direct, aiming to maintain industry-leading capabilities with seamless integration.

Role Overview

The Advisory Platforms team partners closely with Wealth Management product groups to shape and enhance the Advisor and Client experience. We are seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to join this team, primarily supporting investment advisory account onboarding and management, fees and billing, and asset manager experiences. This role focuses on strategic improvements in advisory account onboarding and fee billing, with potential involvement in other critical platform deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with platform leads and product owners to facilitate agile technology delivery of significant initiatives.
  • Utilize internal AI tools to assess current system capabilities, dependencies, and architecture.
  • Define target state user journeys, use cases, workflows, and business processes aligned with product objectives addressing essential user and control requirements.
  • Analyze, define, and manage various data flows and datasets.
  • Create, validate, and manage epics and user stories for agile sprint planning.
  • Specify acceptance criteria, develop and review test cases and scenarios, and conduct user acceptance testing when necessary.
  • Prepare presentations and provide status updates to stakeholders.
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators along with feature adoption and usage metrics.
  • Develop conceptual mock-ups for proposed changes and ideas communication.
  • Support backlog refinement and prioritization of features alongside the platform lead.
  • Engage with stakeholders to demonstrate capabilities, gather requirements, and track user feedback effectively.
  • Work with program management and technology delivery teams to organize and plan product releases efficiently.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
  • Proven expertise in defining, analyzing, documenting, and communicating product and application requirements within waterfall, agile, or hybrid development methodologies.
  • Experience related to investment advisory platforms or wealth management is desirable.
  • Strong skills in data analysis.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive self-starter able to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected base salary range for this role is $85,000 to $140,000 annually, with an individualized offer upon hiring. This compensation forms part of a comprehensive package which may include commissions, incentives, bonuses, and other benefit programs.
