What the role involves

You will support a calm and positive breakfast club environment for children before school. The role involves supervising breakfast, helping maintain a safe and stimulating setting, and supporting children’s early learning and development.

School environment

The school values strong relationships between staff, governors, families, and the wider community. As a Church of England school, it also benefits from close links with local churches. The school aims to offer children a varied and inspiring curriculum that encourages curiosity and a love of learning.

Working culture

The trust looks for people who can contribute to a caring, inclusive, and ambitious environment. Staff are expected to work collaboratively, treat others fairly, and help build a community founded on trust, kindness, and shared goals.

Application guidance

Applications must be submitted through the organisation’s recruitment system; CVs will not be accepted. The role may close early if enough suitable applications are received. Candidates are welcome to visit the school.

Applicants are asked to include a personal statement and respond to a question about which of the trust’s values resonates most with them and why: aspiration, collaboration, inclusion, enjoyment, or nurturing relationships.

Recruitment and safeguarding

This role is subject to safer recruitment checks. It is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, so applicants must disclose all criminal convictions, cautions, warnings, or reprimands, including spent matters. An enhanced DBS check will be completed before employment begins.

References will be requested at shortlisting and may be used during interview. Where an applicant has worked with children before, one referee must come from that setting. Applicants must also provide a full explanation for any gaps in employment.

For shortlisted candidates, an online search of publicly available information will be carried out in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025 and safer recruitment procedures.
