Role Overview
This interim Brand Marketing Manager position supports the beauty portfolio with leadership continuity during a temporary coverage period. The role focuses on steering brand strategy, driving go-to-market execution, and ensuring business priorities are delivered across Color, Care, and Styling.
Compensation and Duration
The pay rate for this assignment is $65 to $75 per hour. The engagement is expected to last 5.5 months.
Work Arrangement
This is a hybrid role with 60% of time spent in the office and 40% worked remotely. The position is based in Culver City, California.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the day-to-day management of the Schwarzkopf Professional Color, Care, and Styling portfolio while ensuring the brand remains consistently positioned across all professional channels.
- Guide the delivery of yearly brand priorities and growth plans, keeping execution aligned with business objectives.
- Track performance against core KPIs such as NES growth, GP1, market share, distribution, awareness, and conversion, then identify risks and growth opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead the creation and rollout of integrated go-to-market plans, including pricing, campaign activation, and launch readiness, in coordination with Sales, Trade Marketing, and Education.
- Use insights from consumers, stylists, customers, and the competitive landscape to shape marketing priorities, improve brand equity, and support decisions.
- Manage brand budgets, timing of activities, and investment allocation to ensure resources are used effectively and deliver strong return on investment.
- Work closely with Sales, Trade Marketing, Education, Finance, Operations, and Global Marketing to maintain alignment and execute initiatives smoothly.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and prioritization support to the Brand Marketing team, encouraging accountability, teamwork, and continuity throughout the coverage period.
Qualifications
- 10 or more years of progressive brand marketing leadership experience in beauty, professional beauty, prestige beauty, or consumer packaged goods.
- Strong history of delivering commercial growth and managing successful brands in the U.S. market.
- Deep knowledge of brand strategy, portfolio management, and integrated marketing execution.
- Experience directing complex go-to-market programs across multiple customer channels.
- Solid commercial judgment, including business planning, budget oversight, and performance analysis.
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams within a matrixed organization.
- A collaborative, decisive, and outcome-driven leadership style with strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
