Key Responsibilities
- Develop sales strategies and ensure branch goals are met concerning agent numbers, productivity, premium collection, and business persistency.
- Analyze the market for opportunities and competition, crafting growth plans in alignment with headquarters.
- Drive the deployment of a balanced product mix, customer engagement initiatives, contests, and investment advisory services.
- Promote field force productivity through regular training, updates on company policies, and performance reviews.
- Maintain high persistency by conducting random quality audits and ensuring comprehensive post-sale client servicing.
- Enforce stringent financial discipline by controlling cash transactions and adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Ensure full compliance with operational processes, underwriting policies, IRDA guidelines, and sales procedures.
- Lead sales promotional activities and collaborate with headquarters to execute central initiatives.
- Suggest product and process improvements based on customer feedback and operational insights.
- Oversee branch administration to guarantee smooth and cost-efficient functioning.
- Manage and mentor team members, facilitating on-the-job and classroom training, job rotation, and skill development.
Team Roles & Objectives
- Front Line Sales Staff: Recruit and train freelance advisors to secure and service insurance policies.
- Sales Support Executives: Coordinate advisor training, licensing, and activation to support sales efforts.
- Rookie Coach: Enhance productivity of new sales force (0-6 months vintage) and improve distribution processes.
Challenges
- Competing against unethical market practices.
- Maintaining retention of high-quality sales personnel amid strong competition.
- Ensuring quality recruitment and effective training of new advisors despite limited direct interaction and low training attendance.
Impact Metrics
- Manpower Management: Leading 18 Assistant Managers/Branch Managers, especially in larger branches.
- Financial Targets: Handling annualized premiums between ₹1.2 crore and ₹5 crore, with a Net Annualised Advisor Commission (NAAC) from ₹0.4 crore to ₹1.5 crore.
- Policy Volume: Managing 600 to 2,500 policies.
- Persistency Objective: Sustaining 85% persistency on a 13-month rolling premium basis.
- Sales Progression: Achieving 30% sales growth within the team.
- Licensing and Activisation: Meeting distribution and activation targets as assigned.
Interactions
- Internal: Daily coordination with Operations (BOE), Area Training Managers, and HR for issues such as pendencies, customer queries, recruitment maximization, training, and HR-related concerns.
- External: Daily communication with advisors regarding sales activities, contests, motivation, and with manpower consultants/vendors for recruitment and bill settlements.
