Job description
About the Company
Timpson is a long-established, family-run business with roots going back to 1865. It operates as the UK’s largest service retail network, with more than 1,300 stores across the country. The business highlights a trust-based culture that gives team members freedom to perform well and grow in their roles. It has also been recognised by The Sunday Times as one of the best workplaces in the UK.
Role Overview
This opportunity is for a branch colleague within a service-focused retail environment in Woking and nearby areas. It is suited to people from retail or hospitality who want a fresh challenge and a role with variety, training, and progression potential. The position may also be described as branch manager, branch colleague, or mobile role, depending on need.
Working Pattern and Pay
The role is available as a permanent, temporary, full-time, or part-time position. The standard schedule is 40 hours across 5 days, including weekends, with overtime available after training. Pay starts at £26,624 per year, rising to £26,624 per year after a successful trial period, and weekly uncapped performance bonus earnings are included.
What You Will Do
Each day will involve helping customers with a wide range of everyday services, including key cutting, watch and mobile phone repairs, engraving, shoe repairs, photo processing, dry cleaning, and other similar tasks. A key expectation in the role is to carry out one act of kindness each day for a customer or colleague.
Training and Development
No previous experience is required, because full training is provided from the first day. You will be guided step by step through the company’s processes and supported through a practical learning experience designed to build the skills needed to succeed. The role is intended to offer a rewarding career path with opportunities to progress.
Benefits
Team members receive a range of benefits alongside base pay and bonuses. These include free holiday homes, an uncapped bonus scheme, a discount card offering up to 90% off for colleagues and up to 25% off for friends and family, an extra day off on your birthday, a paid day off for a child’s first school day, annual salary reviews, regular social events, weekly £1,000 lottery draws, strong promotion opportunities, ongoing skills training, a £100 marriage bonus, and mental health support such as free flu vaccinations and a 24-hour helpline.
Who This Role Suits
The company places more value on personality than formal qualifications. It is looking for positive, approachable, confident people who communicate well. Applications are welcomed from people from all backgrounds, including ex-offenders.
Application Notes
This is a chance to join a business that offers varied work, supportive training, and room to grow. Interested candidates are invited to complete the application process for consideration.
