Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Biomedical Scientist to join our well-established and supportive team working within a modern, well-equipped laboratory accredited under UKAS 15189. Candidates must hold registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as Biomedical Scientists.

Work Environment & Collaboration

This position will be based at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Trust participates in a collaborative pathology network alongside Blackpool Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, and University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, with the aim of forming a unified pathology service hosted by one provider organisation.

Laboratory Facilities

Our facilities include advanced diagnostic systems such as the Roche Cobas PRO with pre-analytics and tracking, IDS iSYS, Tosoh G11s, Waters Acquity UHPLC and Xevo TQD/TQS micro mass spectrometers, Perkin Elmer Pinnacle AA, Z480 PCR equipment, and Radiometer Flex blood gas analysers. Staff are rotated within the Clinical Biochemistry department to work with the latest automation technology, offering opportunities to acquire specialist skills.

Working Hours

The role is full-time, requiring a commitment of 37.5 hours per week.
