About the Role
This opportunity is for experienced biology and biophysics researchers in India who want to contribute part-time to the training and evaluation of advanced AI systems. The work is fully remote and is designed for senior scientific contributors who can help identify where frontier models succeed, where they fail, and how they can be improved.

Role Details
- Position: Biology and Biophysics Researcher
- Location: Remote, India
- Engagement type: Contract
- Workload: 8 to 20 hours per week
- Pay: $40 to $70 per hour
What You Will Do
- Create and evaluate difficult biology and biophysics questions used to train and benchmark frontier AI models.
- Assess model responses involving mechanism prediction, experimental planning, and interpretation of scientific literature.
- Identify shortcomings in model reasoning, especially errors that an active PhD-level researcher would spot quickly.
- Partner with a compact program team and other senior experts.
- Work on your own, communicate asynchronously, and deliver within deadlines while helping improve model quality.
Qualifications
- Strong publication record with first-author or co-first-author papers in journals such as Nature, Science, Cell, PNAS, eLife, NEJM, Nature Methods, Nature Medicine, Nature Biotechnology, Nature Communications, or comparable leading specialty journals.
- Doctoral or postdoctoral training from a top-20 global institution in life sciences or STEM.
- Evidence of high distinction such as prestigious fellowships, including HHMI, NIH F31/F32/K99, NSF GRFP/PRFB, Damon Runyon, Helen Hay Whitney, Jane Coffin Childs, Searle, Pew, Sloan, Packard, Simons, Fulbright, or an equivalent award.
- Experience with issued patents, spin-out companies, or grants where you were named as PI or co-PI.
- Current or very recent involvement in active research, such as being a PhD candidate, postdoc, instructor, faculty member, principal scientist, or industry researcher.
Compensation and Employment Terms
- Engagement is structured as W-2 employment through Cincinnatus LLC.
- Payroll, benefits, and compliance are managed by Cincinnatus.
- Pay is aligned with seniority and research credentials.
- There is no predetermined end date; contributors remain on the program for as long as their expertise is needed.
