Position Overview
Based in Rye, New York, Release Recovery is looking for a Billing Specialist to play a critical role in enhancing and managing our revenue cycle processes. This position supports the entire scope of our revenue operations by collaborating closely with both the Director of Business Operations and Director of Revenue Operations to guarantee accurate, prompt cash pay invoicing, contract handling, and insurance claim reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute all cash pay billing cycles, ensuring invoices for patients and clients are generated correctly and timely.
- Conduct comprehensive account reconciliations daily, weekly, and monthly to maintain precise financial records.
- Handle contract and extension requests while communicating effectively with clients and guarantors about billing inquiries and account status.
- Monitor unpaid balances vigilantly and proactively follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve discrepancies in billing and secure any missing information.
- Maintain meticulous records within billing software and electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems.
- Prepare and deliver regular billing and revenue reports for leadership evaluation.
- Assist with audit processes and initiatives aimed at enhancing billing procedures.
- Contribute to the development of insurance billing operations focusing on claim coding, scrubbing, submission, accounts receivable tracking, and reporting.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 1 to 2 years of experience in managing accounts receivable.
- Proficient in account reconciliation, collections, and payment processing procedures.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience with QuickBooks, DocuSign, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication capabilities both written and verbal.
- Innovative approach with a desire to improve systems and workflow through technology.
- Effective time management and prioritization in a fast-paced setting.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with medical billing platforms like CollabMD and Kipu.
- Certifications such as Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) are advantageous.
