Role overview
Canada Post is seeking a Postmaster to serve as the community-facing lead for the Bellevue post office in Alberta. In this permanent full-time role, you will oversee day-to-day postal retail operations, represent the organization in the local area, and ensure customers and businesses receive a high level of service. The position reports to the Superintendent/Local Area Manager and requires balancing customer service, operational control, and team supervision in a busy, multi-priority environment.
Key duties
- Act as the main connection between the local community and Canada Post services and products.
- Market and sell postal products and services to individual and business customers.
- Run the post office in line with retail opening hours and delivery expectations.
- Oversee postal funds, assets, and other values under your control.
- Keep accurate records and complete required reports.
- Lead, train, and evaluate staff performance.
- Support the efficient coordination of mail delivery routes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, provincial equivalency, or related experience in business administration.
- Proven background in leading and directing a team.
- Experience working with the public in a retail or service setting, including sales and cash handling.
- Working knowledge of regulations, processes, and procedures related to mail processing and postal service delivery.
- Physical ability to lift mail containers up to 50 lb, move or push boxes, sort mail, and remain standing for long periods.
Working conditions
This is a full-time permanent position classified as RVSGB40 - Level 4. The role requires 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8:15 AM to 5:15 PM. The number of vacancies is 1. The hourly wage is $24.10. The closing date for applications is 2026/07/15.
