BI Developer Analyst

Position Overview

As a BI Developer Analyst, you will be a key part of a team tasked with upgrading static, excel-based reports into automated, interactive dashboards and analytics solutions. Your contributions will directly improve the speed, accuracy, and depth of business information, supporting finance and management teams in making informed decisions.

Main Responsibilities

• Participate actively in an Agile development environment to rapidly deliver business value.
• Create and refine BI dashboards and analytical reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Alteryx.
• Engage with various departments to gather requirements and validate that reporting solutions address business needs.
• Collaborate with IT and technology partners to translate user requirements into technical solutions and new reporting capabilities.
• Maintain data integrity and consistency by championing standardized data definitions and calculations.
• Assist subject matter experts in the Center of Excellence as needed.
• Document workflows and facilitate workshops to review and refine reporting processes.
• Analyze and connect to data sources, including SAP BW and MS Access, to identify relevant datasets.
• Support and promote ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in BI development or analytics, with hands-on knowledge of tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, QlikView, or MicroStrategy.
• Background in business and requirements analysis, data visualization, and modelling.
• Experience with extracting data from SAP BW and MS Access is desirable but not mandatory.
• Ability to interpret reporting needs and present data clearly.
• Proficiency in MS Office, specifically SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Excel (pivot tables, charting, etc.).
• Basic awareness of financial processes and systems is beneficial.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Systems, Finance, or Business Studies.
• Practical experience working with, identifying, and extracting data from databases, with preference for exposure to SAP environments (BW, BPC).
