Job Overview & Responsibilities
As Bell Captain, you will ensure exceptional guest experiences during arrivals, departures, and in-house movements by greeting guests promptly, recognizing VIPs and special occasions, and overseeing secure luggage handling with care and discretion. You will lead and mentor the Bell Attendants, Doormen, and associated staff by conducting briefings, managing staffing, providing training, and reinforcing Fairmont's service culture.
You will coordinate seamlessly with Front Desk, Concierge, Guest Relations, Valet, and Security teams to maintain operational efficiency, oversee luggage storage and tracking systems, meticulously handle messages and deliveries, and maintain the cleanliness and presentation of entrance areas and bell desks. Responsibilities also include managing special arrangements for VIPs, groups, and long-stay guests, handling luggage logistics during events, and assisting with service recovery.
Standards, Safety & Compliance
The role demands adherence to Fairmont grooming, communication, and etiquette standards, strict observance of safety and security protocols, confidentiality concerning guest information, and proper maintenance and use of equipment like trolleys and radios.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3 to 5 years' relevant experience in Bell Services or Front Office within a five-star or luxury hotel, with prior supervisory or leadership involvement.
- Hospitality Management diploma or degree is a plus.
- Strong leadership, guest service orientation, organizational skills, multitasking ability, and effective communication abilities.
- Proficiency in English mandatory; knowledge of other languages is advantageous.
