Job description

About Colla Health

Colla Health supports people living with cancer by improving their quality of life through behavioral healthcare that works alongside medical treatment for the 17 million cancer patients in the United States.

Many cancer patients experience mental health challenges, yet only a small share receive the support they need. Colla Health aims to close that gap by delivering accessible, relevant behavioral health care right at the point of oncology care.

The company is building a care and technology platform that brings virtual mental health services into cancer treatment pathways. Its initial model uses Collaborative Care, an evidence-based approach to integrated behavioral health, with the goal of scaling outcomes-focused, value-based care through technology.

About the Role

Behavioral Health Care Managers act as steady, trusted partners within Colla Health's care model. They coordinate behavioral health support for patients with cancer and help connect the full care team—primary care, oncology, and psychiatric support—around a unified treatment plan.

This is a fully remote role supporting one or more partner practices, with a Monday through Friday schedule. The expected start timing is in August. Colla Health is using an evergreen hiring approach, so candidates may be considered for both immediate and future openings as needs evolve. Next steps may happen on different timelines depending on business priorities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage behavioral health support for an assigned panel of patients with cancer.
  • Deliver short, practical behavioral interventions suited to the oncology environment.
  • Conduct screening and assessment for common mental health conditions and substance use concerns.
  • Help patients stay engaged in care and ensure follow-up continues as needed.
  • Educate patients about mental health, substance use disorders, and treatment options.
  • Monitor treatment progress in a structured way, including symptom changes, medication effects, and possible complications.
  • Assist with psychotropic medication coordination by tracking adherence, side effects, and treatment effectiveness under provider direction.
  • Build strong, reliable working relationships with partner oncology teams.
  • Support oncology practices in identifying, routing, and onboarding patients who need behavioral health services.

Qualifications

The preferred background includes at least 5 years of relevant experience in behavioral health, healthcare, or oncology.

Applicants should hold one of the following clinical licenses: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

Success in this role also requires an evidence-based approach, strong collaboration and communication skills, comfort working in a fast-changing environment, experience working with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, a genuine commitment to quality behavioral care, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive pay
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Flexible paid time off
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Access to mentorship from leading clinicians and specialists in psycho-oncology and integrated behavioral health
