Role overview

The Beauty Advisor acts as a face of the brand on the sales floor, helping drive store revenue through attentive customer care, strong product expertise, and a polished brand presence. The position focuses on delivering tailored beauty guidance, making the store feel inviting, and supporting daily retail operations and visual standards as assigned by the store manager or assistant store manager.

Customer service and selling

  • Welcome shoppers as the first contact point and provide individualized beauty consultations along with product suggestions based on each customer’s needs.
  • Interact in a friendly, approachable way while offering skincare guidance, makeup demos, and product trials that improve the overall shopping experience.
  • Help customers choose the right beauty products, convert browsing visitors into buyers, and nurture long-term customer relationships.
  • Actively recommend and upsell products, including related items from the store or other group brands that complement the customer’s purchase.
  • Encourage customers to enrol in the Club Apparel Loyalty Program to support repeat purchases and stronger brand loyalty.

Product knowledge and brand representation

  • Keep up with current beauty trends, new launches, and key ingredients in skincare and cosmetics so advice given to customers stays accurate and relevant.
  • Build a solid understanding of the brand’s story, values, and product range to communicate a clear and consistent brand message.
  • Maintain grooming and personal presentation that matches the brand’s image at all times.
  • Apply and demonstrate makeup or skincare products to highlight their features and benefits and leave customers with a positive impression.

Store operations

  • Support opening and closing routines, stock handling, inventory checks, and replenishment to keep shelves organized and well supplied.
  • Help preserve visual merchandising standards and keep the store tidy, orderly, and attractive in line with company expectations.
  • Assist with marketing activities and promotional initiatives, including in-store events and product launches, to boost customer engagement.
  • Follow standard operating procedures when processing payments, handling returns, and resolving customer concerns in a professional manner.
  • Work in accordance with health and safety requirements, especially when managing beauty and skincare products.

Performance expectations

  • Meet or surpass individual sales goals and contribute to the store’s overall commercial performance.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs such as conversion rate, average basket value, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to achieve shared targets and sustain a cooperative, performance-oriented store atmosphere.

Desired background

Candidates should have strong knowledge of cosmetics, skincare, and beauty trends, along with practical experience using beauty products. Retail customer service experience, ideally in the beauty sector, is important, as is the ability to connect with customers and suggest suitable products. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed for personalized recommendations. A cosmetology or skincare background is preferred, though not required, and formal training in makeup or skincare will be an advantage.
