About the Role

The Barback at Soho House plays a crucial supporting role in the efficient operation of the bar, working closely with bartenders to ensure excellent service is delivered promptly to members and guests. Your primary duties involve assisting bar staff, supplying them with needed items, and delivering drink orders from the bar to members’ tables, acting as the vital link between the bar and the floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Swiftly deliver drinks from the bar to designated locations in the restaurants and serve members.
• Keep the work area spotless and impeccably clean at all times.
• Provide service within an assigned section whilst maintaining accountability for that area.
• Build rapport with members to offer a personalized level of service.
• Polish glassware to ensure all items are prepared for service.
• Support bartenders by restocking ingredients, running drinks, and fetching supplies from storage or cellar.
• Execute opening and closing duties including setup and breakdown of workstations.
• Carefully handle and correctly store all service equipment.
• Attend regular team meetings to stay updated on menu changes, specials, and participate in daily tastings.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar barback or hospitality role.
• Basic knowledge of bar operations including hygiene standards and stock rotation.
• A hospitable and approachable demeanor with a strong passion for customer service.
• Respectful and professional interaction with colleagues and guests alike.
• Demonstrated competency as per the training schedule and club school standards.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to follow directions, collaborate within a team environment, and work independently.
