This joint effort focuses on delivering camp, catering, and infrastructure services that support socio-economic growth and employment opportunities for partner communities.

Role Overview

The Baker is responsible for crafting a variety of sweet and savory baked goods, serving both daily menu needs and bagged lunch programs. This includes managing production planning and ensuring quality standards align with contractual requirements.

The role is based in a remote camp environment, offering amenities such as provided meals and accommodations, private rooms with cable TV, Wi-Fi access, laundry facilities, gym access, and organized travel arrangements from designated cities including Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, and Dryden.

Primary Duties

• Prepare scratch and pre-made bakery items such as cookies, squares, pastries, sweets, and savory goods for bagged lunches
• Bake and plate cakes, pies, and other desserts for menu service
• Prepare doughs and other bakery components as instructed
• Adhere strictly to food safety protocols and standards
• Maintain HACCP and production documentation accurately
• Label and date all food products intended for service
• Keep the front-of-house bakery area stocked and organized
• Clean and sanitize utensils, pots, pans, and workstations after shifts
• Receive, store, and manage all supplies including food, beverages, chemicals, and disposables

Qualifications & Requirements

• Possess a valid Food Safe certificate
• Experience working in large-scale camp cooking environments is mandatory
• Red Seal certification or similar credentials are advantageous
• Capable of accurately managing weekly inventories
• Maintain high cleanliness and organizational standards in kitchen operations
• Self-motivated and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting
• Valid government-issued photo ID required for site travel
• Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check
• Physical capacity to: lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds; climb ladders or stairs; remain standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, or sitting for prolonged periods; perform repetitive hand movements; work with arms extended and above shoulder height
