Role overview
Join a respected European vehicle workshop in Hamilton and be part of a skilled team that is proud of the quality of its workmanship. This family-run business has earned a strong reputation for technical know-how and careful, high-standard repairs. The workshop is fitted with modern diagnostic equipment and works on a wide range of tasks, including fault finding, routine servicing, engine repairs, and specialist transmission jobs.
With consistent workflow and a cooperative team atmosphere, this position is well suited to a technician who enjoys diagnosing issues and working with modern automotive systems.

- Hourly pay is $35 to $42+ depending on experience.
- Extra pay at time-and-a-half applies after 40 hours.
- The standard schedule is Monday to Friday, with the option of Saturday work.
- Working hours can be arranged flexibly.
- A tool allowance is included.
- You will work in a clean workshop equipped with specialist diagnostic tools.
- There are ongoing learning and development opportunities.
- The workshop promotes a supportive, team-oriented culture and holds regular toolbox meetings.
- Staff discounts and social team events are also offered.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair a variety of European vehicles.
- Perform routine servicing and general mechanical repair work.
- Support diagnostic tasks, engine repairs, and gearbox-related work.
- Write clear and accurate job documentation and notes.
- Coordinate with the service team on vehicle status and progress.
- Carry out workshop-based technical work only; there are no customer-facing duties.
- Keep your work area clean, organised, and safe.
Candidate profile
This role is a good fit for a qualified automotive technician with hands-on workshop experience. Experience with European vehicles is preferred, though not essential. Strong fault-finding ability, practical problem-solving skills, and pride in delivering high-quality work are important. You should be dependable, well organised, and comfortable working both on your own and as part of a team. A WOF certification is an advantage but not a requirement.
The team includes several younger technicians, so the position would suit someone with solid experience who is comfortable sharing knowledge and helping to build a positive workshop culture.
