Role Overview
The Automation Specialist within the Supply Chain function will focus on enhancing business operations by identifying and implementing AI-driven initiatives, automation, and digital transformation projects. Working closely with various stakeholders such as Supply Chain, Operations, and Logistics teams, the specialist will analyze existing processes, design effective solutions, and develop digital tools including dashboards, automations, and applications to boost efficiency and decision-making capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business units to understand operational challenges and identify avenues for digital enhancements.
- Conduct thorough analysis of business workflows and translate requirements into feasible AI and automation solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, automated workflows, and internal applications to support various business functions.
- Construct prototypes and proof-of-concept models to quickly validate concepts and deliver actionable business improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts by leveraging process optimization and data insights.
- Engage with stakeholders throughout the entire lifecycle of solution development including design, testing, deployment, and adoption phases.
- Monitor and troubleshoot solution performance, applying continuous enhancements.
- Create comprehensive documentation and conduct user training sessions to ensure effective adoption and usage.
- Advocate for best practices in digital solution governance and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed on emerging AI and digital technologies, suggesting innovative approaches when suitable.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related disciplines.
- Proven experience in business process automation and digital transformation projects.
- Preferably experienced in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations business environments.
- Hands-on experience with SAP systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in developing solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform.
Technical Expertise
- Familiarity with workflow automation platforms such as Power Automate, n8n, or Make.
- Experience in creating dashboards and business intelligence solutions, notably with Power BI or similar tools.
- Knowledge of AI tools including Large Language Models like Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot.
- Competency in Python, SQL, VBA scripting, and API integration techniques.
- Experience developing light-weight business applications or web-based solutions is desirable.
- Understanding of data modeling, automation concepts, and system integration principles.
