Role Summary
The AutoCAD / Revit Technician will act as a pivotal technical liaison connecting sales, procurement, and workshop teams. The role involves translating client requirements into precise 2D and 3D technical designs that facilitate the sales, estimation, assembly, and off-site manufacturing stages of modular constructions. This hands-on position requires producing detailed drawings that directly impact successful modular building delivery.
Primary Duties
- Create precise 2D layouts and 3D models of modular buildings and portable cabins using AutoCAD and Revit in accordance with client briefs.
- Develop material schedules, perform material take-offs, and compile component lists from designs to assist procurement and manufacturing.
- Maintain and update internal BIM families and product libraries to support efficient project workflows.
- Work alongside sales to design practical solutions that aid in winning bids while optimising production costs.
- Revise and issue production-ready drawings to ensure smooth assembly processes on the workshop floor.
- Ensure all designs meet company SOPs, UK Building Regulations, and up-to-date off-site construction standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and 3D Revit software tools.
- Extensive experience with architectural technical drawings, structural detailing, and BIM protocols.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) for design presentations is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail related to dimensions, tolerances, and building specifications.
- Effective communication skills for teamwork across Sales, Engineering, and Workshop departments.
- Relevant qualification in CAD, Architectural Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
