Job description
Position Overview
The Supreme Court of Western Australia invites applications for the Associate position to the Hon Justice Gething, commencing January 2027 through to 31 December 2027. This full-time role is based in Perth and may be extended for an additional 12 months at the Court's discretion. The position requires starting on Monday, 4 January 2027.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be tasked with conducting detailed legal research, drafting written analyses for judicial review, managing administrative duties linked to Court sessions, and providing judicial support during court sittings.
Candidate Profile and Eligibility
- Possession of a law degree or expected completion by 2026.
- Exceptional academic records; honours or equivalent is favorable but not mandatory.
- Advanced skills in research, analytical thinking, and legal writing.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in editorial work.
Applicants already admitted as practicing lawyers who seek judicial associate experience are also encouraged to apply. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are especially welcomed.
