Overview

Tesla is pioneering the rapid transition to sustainable energy by accelerating vehicle production efforts at the Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg. We uphold the highest safety and quality benchmarks and strive to manufacture flawlessly engineered products requiring minimal or no service. We invite a skilled Quality Engineer to join our Bodyshop team and play a crucial role in this mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support technical problem-solving activities using structured methods such as A3, 8D, and Six Sigma.
  • Execute containment actions, perform root cause investigations (applying 5-Why and Ishikawa tools), and implement corrective and preventive measures accordingly.
  • Analyze production data and process parameters to identify issues and recommend improvements.
  • Monitor Quality team KPIs and drive initiatives to meet objectives.
  • Manage special projects focused on joining technologies and dimensional stability within the Bodyshop Quality Engineering scope.
  • Collaborate closely with teams across Operations, Production, Maintenance, Process, and Control units within General Assembly.
  • Develop comprehensive insight into the role and impact of Quality Engineering at Tesla.
  • Acquire understanding of Tesla’s operational, technological, and production processes.
  • Establish proactive prevention processes for early problem detection and resolution.

Candidate Profile

  • Proficiency in English; German language skills are highly beneficial.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering disciplines related to Mechanics, Electronics, or Chemistry, especially quality, process, production, or industrial engineering.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience in the automotive sector at a similar role.
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with solid engineering knowledge.
  • Familiarity with core Quality methodologies including A3, 8D, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP, and standards such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
  • Experience with GD&T, dimensional report analysis, and product validation.
  • Hands-on knowledge of quality validation and process release for hot and cold joining processes such as spot welding, laser welding, laser brazing, riveting, and gluing.
  • Competence in using Catia V5 software.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a solution-oriented mindset to address critical challenges.
  • Adaptability to a fast-changing and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience utilizing AI tools in project development is a plus.
  • A commitment to advancing sustainability by adhering to Tesla’s Global Environmental, Health, Safety & Security policies and EMAS compliance, fostering ongoing environmental improvements.
