Role Overview

We are looking for an Associate Producer to support a live television news operation in Midtown Manhattan, New York. This is an on-site, full-time position focused on daily editorial production and the execution of live broadcasts in a fast-paced newsroom.

The position calls for someone with hands-on live TV production experience, strong news judgment, and the ability to shape engaging content from a variety of editorial inputs. You will partner with senior producers, correspondents, anchors, and control room staff to help deliver polished live programming.

The job is based in Midtown Manhattan, NY and requires onsite work. The schedule is full-time and may change depending on programming needs and operational demands.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range for this role is $80,000 to $90,000, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications. The position also includes comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Create segment structures and monologues built from multiple editorial sources.
  • Handle correspondent and guest segments from early concept development through live airing.
  • Assemble show components such as video, graphics, and supporting editorial materials.
  • Draft scripts, banners, and other on-air copy with careful attention to accuracy.
  • Line produce live broadcasts using ENPS or a similar newsroom platform.
  • Track rundowns and keep segment timing accurate during live shows.
  • Assist with live control room operations and coordinate closely with editorial and production teams.
  • Work with anchors, editors, and graphics personnel to keep broadcasts running smoothly.
  • Bring forward story ideas, research support, and editorial input for daily coverage.

Requirements

  • Prior experience producing live television news programming.
  • Background in control room operations and line producing.
  • Ability to use ENPS or another comparable newsroom system.
  • Strong editorial judgment, writing ability, and storytelling skills.
  • Capacity to juggle several assignments while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Professional, collaborative communication style.
