Associate Principal, Strategic Finance & Analytics

About the Role

This position sits within the Homes Supply organization and focuses on using finance and analytics to support business growth. The role partners closely with senior leaders to evaluate the effect of business initiatives, guide investment decisions in new opportunities, and connect operational actions to financial results.

The work combines finance leadership, strategic analysis, and performance management. You will help shape decisions that support both near-term execution and long-term expansion for Airbnb’s homes supply business.

What You’ll Do

• Work with business partners on annual and quarterly planning, ensuring financial and strategic goals stay aligned.
• Support strategic programs that improve financial performance, streamline operations, and strengthen long-term growth.
• Make sure strategic and product initiatives roll up clearly into the overall business P&L and support wider business goals.
• Deliver clear, actionable insights through reporting and analytics, and collaborate with Data Science teams to improve data access, automation, and deeper financial analysis.
• Prepare and present financial updates, performance summaries, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership and other stakeholders.
• Study business trends and explain changes in performance by turning complex data into practical recommendations.
• Manage tracking and approval of team budget requests, making sure submissions are accurate, compliant, well-documented, and aligned with priorities.
• Monitor spending closely and keep leadership informed with timely reporting that supports disciplined financial decision-making.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience in FP&A and/or business strategy, with preferred exposure to strategic finance, investment banking, management consulting, or business operations.
• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, or a related discipline; an MBA or CPA is considered an advantage.
• Strong experience in P&L management, revenue forecasting, and financial modeling, along with confidence using spreadsheets and financial reporting tools independently.
• Ability to use AI tools to improve both process quality and productivity.
• Excellent strategic judgment and analytical thinking, with the ability to interpret financial information and convert it into business recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when explaining complex finance topics to non-finance audiences and senior leaders.
• Demonstrated leadership and the ability to influence decisions across teams and functions.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving, collaborative, and innovative environment while leading cross-functional efforts.
• Sound judgment and thoughtful decision-making aligned with the organization’s core values.

Location and Work Setup

This role is remote within the United States. Occasional work from an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be required, based on agreement with your manager.

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this role is USD 157,000 to USD 172,000. Actual compensation depends on factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market conditions, and the range may change in the future.

This position may also qualify for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
