Job description
Role overview
Airbnb began in 2007 when two hosts opened their San Francisco home to three guests. Since then, the platform has expanded to more than 5 million hosts and over 2 billion guest arrivals across nearly every country in the world. The company helps people connect with communities through distinctive stays and experiences.
Team and mission
You will join the Engagement Growth Marketing group, a team that works at the crossroads of marketing, product, engineering, and data science. The team focuses on improving the guest journey and creating measurable business impact by building highly tailored lifecycle experiences based on data, insights, and real-time signals.
What this role will do
As Growth Marketing Lead for Guest Engagement, you will own the lifecycle strategy that moves guests from interest to booking. You will shape and run personalized email and push communication programs that introduce guests to new pilot initiatives being tested by Airbnb. In partnership with Creative, MarTech, MarOps, Analytics, Data Science, Product, and Program Management teams, you will help build a roadmap informed by guest behavior, testing, dynamic content, and ML/AI-driven decisioning.
The role calls for strong strategic thinking, analytical discipline, and technical fluency. You will define priorities, align stakeholders, and drive high-quality execution while contributing to a collaborative, optimistic, and growth-oriented team culture.
Core responsibilities
- Own lifecycle marketing strategy and execution across email and push, with emphasis on new Airbnb pilot programs.
- Work with global business teams to turn pilot launches and promotional moments into effective customer journeys and campaigns.
- Use segmentation, behavioral triggers, and personalization to raise campaign effectiveness and guest engagement.
- Partner with Analytics and Data Science to shape segmentation, assess performance, measure incrementality, and turn findings into recommendations for leadership.
- Collaborate with Creative, Product, Engineering, and Marketing partners to deliver strong customer experiences across channels.
- Apply AI-powered insights, automation, and personalization to improve relevance and performance.
- Maintain a structured experimentation roadmap covering messaging, audience selection, timing, and channel mix.
- Create clear campaign briefs that define goals plus technical, data, creative, and audience needs.
- Stay organized and focused in a fast-moving environment by prioritizing work that creates the most impact.
- Work independently, learn tools and systems quickly, and proactively move projects forward.
Experience and qualifications
- 10+ years of B2C CRM or lifecycle marketing experience in fast-paced consumer or e-commerce businesses, with a strong record of impact.
- Deep knowledge of lifecycle marketing, customer journey design, segmentation, personalization, and behavioral marketing.
- Excellent prioritization and program management ability, with the capacity to manage several workstreams while maintaining quality.
- Comfort working through ambiguity and change, with resilience, adaptability, and steady leadership in a dynamic tech setting.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional roadmaps and communicate strategy and results clearly to senior leaders.
- Strong analytical approach with experience in testing, performance measurement, and campaign optimization.
- Track record of collaborating effectively with Product, Engineering, Analytics, Creative, and Marketing teams.
- Ability to balance growth goals with customer experience and brand standards.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms, marketing automation tools, and AI-enabled personalization capabilities.
- A collaborative, positive mindset with curiosity, optimism, and enthusiasm for lifecycle marketing.
Location and work arrangement
This role is remote eligible within the United States. Occasional visits to an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be required, based on agreement with your manager. You must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. Some states are excluded, and the list may change over time. If the role is employed by another Airbnb entity, your recruiter will confirm which states are eligible.
Inclusion and accommodations
Airbnb welcomes applicants from the broadest possible talent pool and values diverse perspectives as a source of innovation. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. The company also supports an accessibility-conscious application and interview process. Candidates with disabilities who need a reasonable accommodation to complete an application can request help from the recruiting team, but only if the disability prevents completion of the online application process.
Compensation and benefits
The base salary for this role is influenced by factors such as training, transferable skills, work history, business needs, and market conditions. The pay range may change in the future. In addition to base pay, the role may also qualify for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits. The stated base salary range is $160,000 to $200,000 USD.
