Job Purpose

The role of Mine Surveyor is pivotal for ensuring accuracy in surveying and measuring mine environments to support mine safety and operational efficiency. This position involves crafting and maintaining precise mine layouts, monitoring underground geological features, and ensuring adherence to industry regulations. Collaboration with engineers, geologists, and managerial personnel is essential to furnish vital data that influences mine planning and safety management.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed topographic and subterranean surveys using cutting-edge surveying tools and methodologies to map mine physical attributes accurately.
• Measure and document dimensions, elevations, and contours of mine structures and geological formations with high precision.
• Leverage advanced survey software for collection, evaluation, and processing of survey data, ensuring prompt and accurate reporting.
• Prepare and update mine plans, layout diagrams, and sectional drawings reflecting current operations and future developments.
• Ensure mine plans comply with statutory requirements, industry benchmarks, and organizational policies to facilitate regulatory audits and inspections.
• Collaborate with mining engineers, geologists, and management to refine and optimize mine plans based on operational demands and geological insights.
• Detect, document, and monitor geological formations, fault lines, and hazards to provide early safety warnings.
• Contribute to assessments of ground stability, roof integrity, and safety risks by supplying reliable geological data and interpretations.
• Support geological mapping and modeling by providing precise survey measurements for predictions and management of geological conditions.
• Strictly follow mining regulations, environmental guidelines, and safety standards, ensuring ethical and legal surveying practices.
• Maintain and submit necessary reports and documentation to regulatory authorities, guaranteeing accuracy and timely compliance.
• Participate actively in safety audits, inspections, and reviews, delivering survey evidence that helps showcase compliance and areas for enhancement.
• Offer critical survey insights to assist mine design, planning, and development projects aimed at operational efficiency and safety.
• Help coordinate and execute mine development and expansion projects by providing reliable survey data to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Collaborate across teams including engineering, operations, and safety to harmonize surveying operations with mine objectives.
• Drive the adoption and effective use of digital surveying tools and platforms, working with teams to enhance productivity and business alignment.

• External: Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS), Forest Department, Environmental Authorities

Experience & Qualifications

The candidate should have between 12 to 20 years of relevant work experience.
