Overview
Mattel is looking for a strategic and hands-on product marketer to join the Monster High Global Brand Team as an Associate Toy Marketing Manager. Monster High is a major global doll franchise with fans across kids, collectors, and alt-culture communities. This role partners closely with the Toy Marketing Manager to guide the toy business, shape portfolio strategy, and support product development from concept through launch.
What You’ll Do
- Build toy strategy by segment, including core, premium, kids, adult collector, and other relevant channels.
- Lead the full product development process, working with Design, Packaging, Development, and manufacturing teams from early idea stages to launch readiness.
- Set and manage pricing structure and market positioning across the assortment.
- Help create 3- to 5-year product roadmaps that balance innovation with refresh cycles.
- Use consumer and competitive research to shape positioning, feature choices, pricing tiers, and differentiation.
- Track business performance measures such as revenue, margin, SKU productivity, and POS.
- Work with regional commercial teams to align on global product direction and secure buy-in.
- Prepare and present clear, persuasive updates for senior and cross-functional audiences.
- Own global reporting, analysis, and ongoing communication with regional stakeholders and lines of business.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 5 years of experience in product marketing, brand marketing, franchise marketing/management, or a similar field; 3 years may be acceptable with an MBA.
- Experience in CPG or toys, with exposure to retail buyer behavior and mass, specialty, or e-commerce channels preferred.
- Proven success building strong partnerships across functions and working in matrixed organizations with many stakeholders.
- Experience working with Design, R&D, and manufacturing teams.
- Ability to define toy segments, pricing ladders, and innovation cycles into a clear strategy and roadmap.
- Solid understanding of the marketing mix and performance metrics.
- Strong financial and quantitative capabilities, including forecasting, pricing strategy, SKU productivity, and POS analysis.
- Comfort managing P&L at the brand or category level.
- Ability to turn data and consumer insights into practical recommendations.
- Strong project management skills for complex product timelines.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills for influencing senior leadership and large groups.
- Highly organized, detail-focused, self-driven, and dependable with follow-through.
- Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word.
