Job description

Role overview

This position supports the Financing Group within Global Banking for the Asia Pacific region, based in Singapore. The team works across a wide range of financing solutions, including corporate lending, acquisition and leveraged finance, fund finance, infrastructure and project finance, real estate finance, asset finance, debt capital markets, securitization, and other structured funding solutions. Core work in the group spans deal origination, execution, structuring, documentation, cash flow modelling and financial analysis, negotiation, closing, and the ongoing oversight of the loan book.

The role requires close partnership with teams handling origination and relationship coverage, syndication and distribution, as well as middle office, legal, and market and credit risk functions.

Key responsibilities

  • Work alongside senior bankers and internal teams to help grow and support Santander’s Financing Group across Asia Pacific.
  • Prepare internal credit submissions and coordinate diligence work, term sheet discussions, documentation, and closing steps for transactions.
  • Build, maintain, and refine advanced financial models so they properly capture deal terms and diligence findings, including sensitivity testing as transactions progress.
  • Assess and structure transactions through projections, scenario analysis, risk review, and return analysis, while taking into account tax, legal, and regulatory considerations in local markets.
  • Guide the business manager in post-closing matters such as SPV administration, cash flow monitoring, valuation support, and loan portfolio provisioning.
  • Contribute to origination efforts and help prepare marketing and pitch materials.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Latin America to support Santander’s global coverage efforts.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Engineering is preferred.
  • Between 3 and 5 years of relevant experience in infrastructure or project finance, corporate finance, M&A, or financial advisory, with prior hands-on financial modelling experience.
  • Demonstrated success in closing transactions, ideally involving international or regional corporates, financial sponsors, and government entities; an established industry network is a plus.
  • Strong ability to manage several priorities at once, apply logical reasoning, and work with robust quantitative and analytical capability in a fast-moving, target-driven environment.
  • Well-rounded exposure to financing, tax, accounting, financial modelling, due diligence, and transaction documentation.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present ideas and positions persuasively.
  • Proven leadership qualities and the ability to build cooperative relationships with internal and external partners, while contributing effectively in a multidisciplinary team and remaining accountable for outcomes.
  • English fluency is essential; knowledge of other local languages will be an advantage.
