Role Overview
The position of Associate Director of Athlete Engagement is primarily remote and part-time, with some travel to attend events and meet athletes face-to-face. This role serves as the chief contact and relationship manager for all athletes represented by Axe Sports Group. The individual in this role is responsible for maintaining strong athlete relationships, acting as a trusted resource, and ensuring smooth communication and operational flow.
This role involves key operational duties such as onboarding new athletes, clarifying campaign details and deadlines, monitoring deliverables including social media posts, appearances, and content submissions, ensuring that content meets brand standards, and collaborating with internal teams and brand partners to maintain campaign schedules. The Associate Director proactively identifies and escalates any missed deadlines or communication lapses, and consistently embodies the Axe Sports Group brand with professionalism and enthusiasm in interactions with athletes.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in athlete engagement, talent management, sports marketing, brand partnerships, or related areas.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities with a talent for quickly establishing trust.
- Strong organizational skills capable of managing multiple athletes and campaigns at once.
- Preferably experienced in working with college or professional athletes.
- Knowledge of NIL policies, brand deal frameworks, or influencer marketing is advantageous.
- Self-motivated with a high level of responsibility and commitment to completion.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for events and in-person athlete meetings.
