Role Overview

As an Associate in Buying & Merchandising, you will be integral to supporting procurement and merchandising processes to ensure balanced inventory and customer satisfaction. This position requires 1 to 3 years of relevant industry experience and involves providing analytical insights and operational assistance to the buying and merchandising teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of buying strategies informed by market trends and consumer needs.
  • Analyze sales figures and forecasts to maintain optimal stock levels and availability.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on contract negotiations, pricing, and delivery timelines.
  • Monitor product performance and suggest promotional activities or markdowns.
  • Coordinate with merchandising to align product selections with customer demands and brand positioning.
  • Perform competitive market analysis to uncover growth opportunities.
  • Assist in creating marketing campaigns and promotions alongside the marketing team.
  • Contribute to budget preparation, financial reporting, and inventory projections.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments and competitor actions to inform buying choices.
  • Provide administrative support to the buying and merchandising department.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in sourcing and the textile or apparel industries preferred.
  • Fundamental knowledge of buying and merchandising processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Good negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent undergraduate education.
