Job Overview
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) School of Dental Medicine is seeking to fill two full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track Faculty-In-Residence positions in Clinical Sciences specializing in Endodontics. The roles involve oversight and management of the pre-doctoral endodontic curriculum, including both pre-clinical and clinical courses. Additionally, faculty will supervise and provide patient care in general dentistry and specialty clinics. Support for advanced education programs such as General Practice Residency, Pediatric Dentistry, and Orthodontics is part of the role. Faculty also have opportunities for intramural faculty practice and extramural private practice.
School Profile
UNLV School of Dental Medicine, Nevada's only accredited dental school since its inception in 2002, offers a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. The school admits approximately 82 students yearly out of more than 1,800 applicants. It provides eight academic and advanced certificate programs, conducts biomedical research facilities, offers continuing education, community outreach, and serves about 70,000 patient visits annually. The education programs maintain accreditation by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
Qualifications
- Possession of a D.M.D. or D.D.S. degree from an accredited institution recognized by U.S. Department of Education or CHEA.
- Completion of an Endodontics specialty program from a CODA-approved school.
- Eligibility for Nevada dental licensure, requiring graduation from a CODA-approved school in the U.S. or Canada prior to employment start.
- Preferred candidates have at least three years of dental teaching experience and Board certification in Endodontics.
