Assistant Restaurant Manager

Role Overview

Based in Singapore and part of the Food & Beverage department, this role reports to the Restaurant Manager. The Assistant Restaurant Manager helps deliver an exceptional guest journey in line with the outlet concept by supporting day-to-day service leadership alongside the culinary team. The position calls for courteous, polished, and efficient service that meets outlet, hotel, and Kempinski standards, while actively contributing to sales growth and stronger profitability. Over time, the role is expected to develop into a Restaurant/Outlet Manager position.

Success Criteria

• Company and hotel policies must be followed closely, including fire safety, general safety, and hygiene controls such as HACCP.
• Outlet sales should be pushed to their full potential while staying within budget.
• Product and service quality must remain consistently high.
• The outlet should be managed with an entrepreneurial mindset, continuously identifying new ways to create business.
• Growth and development of internal team members should be encouraged and supported.
• The employee should be prepared to assume responsibility for the outlet at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore or another Kempinski property.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in a hotel or independent restaurant/bar setting, including a minimum of 2 years in a comparable role.
• A warm, confident, pleasant personality with strong interpersonal ability.
• Strong English communication skills.
• A positive, collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently, stay effective under pressure, and deliver practical, proactive solutions.
• Strong service focus, attention to detail, and a passion for innovative Food & Beverage service.
• Working knowledge of LQA and Forbes standards.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures and regulations.
