Job description
Role Overview
The Assistant Quality & Safety Controller plays a key role in monitoring and enhancing quality and safety standards during production processes. This position supports compliance efforts related to internationally recognized standards and fosters collaboration among various operational teams.
Primary Responsibilities
- Carry out regular quality and safety inspections throughout the production cycle.
- Help maintain documentation, reports, and compliance records aligned with BRC/ISO standards.
- Work closely with the AWR HO HSE team to implement safety initiatives and stay updated on relevant changes.
- Contribute to hazard identification and the execution of safety control strategies.
- Assist in documenting, filing, and reporting safety incidents and near-miss occurrences.
- Maintain thorough inspection documentation and participate in preparations for audits.
- Deliver fundamental training to operators focusing on hygiene practices, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and safety awareness.
- Support internal quality assessments and ensure follow-through on corrective measures.
- Participate in quality testing and conduct straightforward line inspections during production.
- Collaborate effectively with production, quality assurance, and health, safety, and environment teams as an integral team member.
Educational Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree specializing in Engineering, Quality Management, or Occupational Health & Safety.
Experience
- Between 1 and 2 years of experience in manufacturing or packaging sectors.
- Prior exposure to BRC/ISO audit processes, hazard management, or safety incident reporting is advantageous.
Skill Set and Competencies
- Fundamental knowledge of quality assurance checks and safety protocols.
- Experience with ERP systems and audit tracking tools.
- Effective communication and keen observational abilities.
- Responsible, self-motivated, and eager to acquire new skills.
- Strong team player capable of supporting cross-functional activities.
Languages
- Basic proficiency in English required.
- Additional language skills are considered beneficial.
