Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Safety, Health & Environment (HSE) Advisor to oversee and ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance at a modern stadium located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This vital position involves safeguarding staff, visitors, and operations during various events and regular facility activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and sustain detailed HSE policies and procedures tailored to the stadium environment.
- Perform routine risk evaluations and safety inspections to detect hazards and enforce corrective strategies.
- Lead thorough investigations into incidents, determine root causes, and propose measures to prevent recurrence.
- Organize and conduct comprehensive safety training sessions for employees and contractors.
- Develop emergency response plans and liaise with local emergency services and authorities for effective coordination.
- Ensure adherence to Saudi Arabian and international HSE laws and standards within stadium operations.
- Manage environmental initiatives including waste control and sustainability programs.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and analyze performance indicators.
- Work alongside event planners and management to guarantee safety during sports and large public events.
- Keep abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends related to stadium safety management.
- Carry out periodic safety checks and enforce necessary corrective actions promptly.
- Establish and nurture collaborative relationships with regulatory bodies and other key stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or similar discipline.
- Relevant professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent.
- At least five years of practical experience in an HSE capacity, ideally within large-scale facilities or stadiums.
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable HSE regulations and norms, including those in Saudi Arabia.
- Proven expertise in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and preparing emergency response plans.
- Strong analytical acumen with great attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities for effective team training and collaboration.
- Proficient in using HSE-related software and data management systems.
- Knowledge of stadium operations, crowd control, and safety procedures for sporting events.
- Flexibility to work variable shifts, including nights and weekends during events.
- Fluency in English required; Arabic language skills considered advantageous.
- Certified in First Aid and CPR.
- Capability to efficiently prioritize work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills focused on promoting and sustaining a strong safety culture.
