Position Overview
Beginning in Fall 2026, this tenure-track, 10-month full-time appointment in the Education Department at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh focuses on literacy education integrated with practical teaching strategies for English Language Learners (ELLs). The role entails active participation in reflective teaching and collaboration with university colleagues and regional partner schools.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare preservice teachers to effectively support English Language Learners using evidence-based practices.
- Deliver courses on literacy development spanning childhood through adolescence.
- Contribute to the design and improvement of literacy and ELL curricular offerings.
- Provide instruction on pedagogical methods in both traditional classroom and online formats.
- Engage in collaborative teaching and reflective practice as part of teaching teams.
