About the Role
Join Ocean Network Express in Singapore as an Assistant Manager/Manager in the Asia Oceania Trade division. This full-time on-site position is within the transportation, logistics, supply chain, and storage industry, focusing on managing and enhancing shipping services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed market research and analyze data to create new profitable shipping services that maintain high vessel on-time performance.
- Enhance existing shipping loops to increase profitability and ensure vessels maintain their schedules.
- Collaborate with relevant parties to develop contingency plans and implement measures to reduce commercial impacts from vessel delays or related challenges.
- Monitor profit and loss trends closely, diagnose causes for deviations from business goals and forecasts, and enact corrective actions.
- Update service details on the corporate website and assist the Marketing team by preparing Customer Advisory documents when needed.
- Complete internal documentation accurately and within given deadlines.
- Demonstrate leadership by mentoring junior staff and supporting their training during daily operations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A degree in a pertinent field is mandatory.
- 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in liner shipping or related operations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent research ability, analytical thinking, and capacity to synthesize information quantitatively.
- Proactive approach to identifying improvements in processes and implementing technological innovations.
- Effective written and oral communication skills for collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Capability to nurture a cooperative and responsible workplace culture.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in sales or front-office roles within the container shipping industry is advantageous.
- Knowledge or experience with artificial intelligence applications is considered a plus.
