Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Manager to join our team in Tasmania, working onsite at our venue in Lutana. This role involves supporting the Publican to ensure smooth, safe, and engaging operations, while cultivating strong local connections and fostering a vibrant atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop close relationships with regular patrons to build a community feel.
- Assist the Publican in the daily management and seamless functioning of the pub.
- Gain experience in Publican duties while guiding and motivating a team of hospitality professionals.
- Proactively address and resolve operational issues before they escalate.
- Consistently deliver high energy, excellent service, and a positive environment each shift.
Physical and Practical Requirements
- The position involves practical tasks including manual handling such as moving stock, kegs, and deliveries, requiring safe and efficient physical capability.
Candidate Profile
- Experience working in bar, bistro, or gaming room environments, preferably with supervisory responsibilities.
- Previous exposure to effective management practices and readiness to take on leadership roles.
- Strong interpersonal skills, confidence, and pride to represent the venue during the Publican's absence.
- Must hold current RSA and RSG/RCG certifications as prescribed by state laws.
