Job Overview

The Assistant Manager – Supply Chain will be primarily responsible for designing and implementing effective demand forecasting methodologies, coordinating with various departments to create accurate demand plans, and refining inventory management procedures. This role is crucial to guarantee optimal supply chain functionality and to satisfactorily meet customer demand.

Key Duties

  • Leverage historical data, market dynamics, and insights to generate dependable demand forecasts.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and related departments to amalgamate inputs for comprehensive demand planning.
  • Engage actively in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) sessions to harmonize demand forecasts with supply capabilities, ensuring customer needs are met while maintaining balanced inventories.
  • Supervise inventory levels and partner with procurement and production teams to optimize stock, mitigating risks of shortages or excess.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of demand metrics, sales data, and other relevant figures to discern trends, patterns, and risks affecting forecast accuracy.
  • Create and apply strategies to manage unpredictable demand changes and prepare contingency responses for unforeseen fluctuations.
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to predict demand for new product introductions by analyzing market research and existing data.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate demand planning efficiency, forecast precision, stock aging, and drive ongoing improvements.
  • Generate and communicate detailed demand planning reports and insights to stakeholders and senior leadership.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Adept at operating in dynamic, fast-moving environments while juggling multiple tasks.
  • Proficient with demand planning tools and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, and IBP.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively collaborate with multifunctional teams.
