Role overview
This position is for an Assistant Manager at Mark’s in Marystown, Newfoundland and Labrador. The role focuses on leading store teams, supporting customer experience, keeping operations running smoothly, and stepping in to oversee the store when the Store Manager is unavailable.
Customer service and sales support
- Guide the team on a regular basis, coach consistently, and follow up to make sure service standards are delivered to every customer.
- Oversee the B2B Mark’s Commercial Business area, including order entry, order tracking, and team coaching so customer orders are accurate and completed on time.
- Deliver a strong omni-channel customer experience by supporting in-store eCommerce selling and completing online orders within required service timelines.
- Help maintain a positive customer experience by making sure inventory is processed and moved to the sales floor promptly.
Store operations
- Put operating procedures, processes, and policies into practice and ensure the team follows them.
- Coordinate scheduling and monitor execution across shipping and receiving, eCommerce fulfillment, cash handling, and store systems compliance.
- Assist with planning and carrying out annual inventory counts.
- Ensure adherence to corporate loss prevention, cash control, audit, and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Take responsibility for all store operations when the Store Manager is not present.
Training and communication
- Lead the team through coaching and follow-up so service expectations are met consistently.
- Prepare and communicate the daily action plan for operational priorities.
- Run clear and effective shift-start meetings and coaching sessions.
- Ensure required training is completed within set timelines.
Leadership and culture
- Represent the brand positively and help promote the company culture.
- Keep the team motivated through recognition, store contests, customer praise, and other engagement activities.
- Support Mark’s performance management standards, including progressive discipline when needed.
- Apply the disciplinary process fairly and consistently.
- Help maintain a work environment that is positive, safe, inclusive, and encouraging.

Compensation and benefits
The expected hiring range for this role is $34,800 to $43,500 per year. Final pay may vary depending on experience, store size, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
