Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and design seasonal knitwear collections that reflect the Louis Philippe brand's identity and align with commercial targets.
- Analyze and interpret global trends in fashion, including colors, materials, and silhouettes focusing on premium menswear.
- Develop mood boards, conceptual sketches, design specifications, and visual artwork for knitwear products.
- Work in close partnership with merchandising, sourcing, product development, and technical teams to ensure smooth transition from design to production.
- Create innovative yarns, stitch types, knit structures, and patterns tailored to the premium menswear segment.
- Coordinate with suppliers and factories for sample creation, fitting, quality assurance, and cost management.
- Evaluate product performance and consumer feedback to integrate insights into upcoming collections.
- Manage design schedules meticulously, achieving deadlines for seasonal delivery.
- Encourage innovation by incorporating advanced knitwear techniques, sustainable materials, novel finishes, and new design methodologies.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Knitwear Design, Textile Design, or related fields from recognized institutions such as NIFT or Pearl Academy.
- 5 to 8 years of professional experience specifically in menswear design, heavily focused on knitwear shirts.
- Prior experience with premium or lifestyle fashion brands is favorable.
- Comprehensive knowledge of knitwear development including yarn types, gauge measurements, knitting constructions, and garment engineering principles.
- Proficiency with design software including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Strong capabilities in trend analysis, color coordination, and commercially viable design development.
- Effective communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
