Role Overview
The Assistant Manager for Corporate Communications and Marketing will be pivotal in shaping FMAS's public image, managing communications and branding strategies, and promoting the organization’s projects and partnerships. This position requires a balance of strategic insight and practical implementation skills, alongside enthusiasm for community advancement and digital storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and lead comprehensive communications strategies to reinforce FMAS as a trusted voice for merchants and hawkers nationally.
- Maintain corporate reputation by ensuring consistent, clear messaging across platforms.
- Draft and manage dissemination of press releases, statements, speeches, and leadership communications.
- Handle issue communications and media responses in coordination with senior leadership.
- Prepare briefing documents, talking points, and media materials for public and stakeholder engagement.
- Guide branding and marketing efforts for all FMAS projects, events, and programs.
- Design and implement integrated marketing campaigns to boost awareness and community involvement.
- Ensure brand consistency in visuals, tone, and storytelling across all channels.
- Lead sponsorship marketing and partnership activities in collaboration with project teams.
- Oversee FMAS’s digital footprint, including website, social media, and newsletters with timely, impactful content.
- Plan content schedules, execute campaigns, and track analytics to optimize reach and engagement.
- Create engaging multimedia content like visuals and short videos using design software such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Provide communications and social media guidance to member associations under shared secretariat services.
- Cultivate strong working relationships with government agencies, media, and corporate collaborators.
- Support advocacy efforts by developing narratives, case studies, and highlighting success stories related to heartland development.
- Enhance member and partner communication to deepen FMAS’s impact.
- Manage projects by defining scopes, setting goals, budgeting, liaising with vendors and partners, and monitoring performance metrics for continuous improvements.
- Assist precinct revitalization and business growth projects using branding and communications expertise.
- Contribute to membership expansion, sponsorship drives, and fundraising initiatives.
- Perform other tasks as directed by the Executive Director or Committee.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or diploma in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related fields.
- Between 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, marketing, or branding roles.
- Exceptional proficiency in English (both written and verbal); knowledge of Mandarin or additional languages is advantageous.
- Demonstrated success in media relations, public affairs, and digital communications.
- Strong aptitude in project management, budget handling, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience with trade associations, small and medium enterprises, or community organizations is preferred.
- Creativity, resourcefulness, and capability to integrate strategic planning with practical execution.
- Highly committed, disciplined, and passionate about community development and heritage preservation.
- Preference given to Singaporean citizens and Permanent Residents.
